The markings on his back is a continuation of Cid's markings on the chest.

It's the result of the 'binding' process that was done to them before being thrown down from heaven. The binding circles around Cid's right bicep, to Stan's back, up his shoulder blade. Then it crosses Cid's chest and goes around Stan's back to his left bicep. Does that make sense?

If you noticed, Stan's scars from his wings are not just on his shoulder blades but extend downwards. I sort of took the liberty of making my characters have a slightly different back anatomy, giving them slightly longer/larger shoulder blades that their wings are attached to, as well as being wrapped with muscles from their trapezius and lats for added power. I guess for me it's logical that if one were meant to fly with wings, he'd have to be 'built' that way.

Um... No. The other demons of the fallen do not have scars like him. His wings were cut off not just 'magically bound' like the others so that it cannot be used. It was done so he cannot shape-shift and have them. And it was excruciatingly painful. Which just goes to show why Stan is extremely irritated with angels. As shown in this [link] hehehe.
